Pillans Point School - Taurikura

This mural is my creative take on the legend of Taurikura, designed as a fun and meaningful way to support the school’s localised curriculum. The mural was shaped through collaboration with both the school and local Iwi, creating a piece students can connect with while learning about an important part of our shared history.

As always, I loved the whole process – from consultation and design to revisions and painting during school hours. Every comment, smile, and kōrero on site made the experience even more special. I really feel like I’ve become part of the Pillans Point School whānau, and I’m so grateful for that.
