Otumoetai Playcentre

This mural was created in collaboration with Otūmoetai Playcentre staff and whānau, with the intention of celebrating connection — to whenua, community, and early childhood learning.

Designed as a welcoming and nurturing visual environment for tamariki, the artwork reflects themes of growth, care, and belonging. Natural forms, movement, and colour are used to create a sense of warmth and curiosity, supporting the playcentre as a place where children and families can feel grounded and inspired. The mural was blessed by Matua Des of Ngāti Ranginui iwi and Ngāi Tamarāwaho hapū at its unveiling, marking the artwork as a shared and meaningful contribution to the space. It was a privilege to work alongside the playcentre community to create a piece that will be lived with, learned alongside, and enjoyed for years to come.
