Te Puke Intermediate School Mural
A “Waharoa” stands at the centre of the mural. It is a gateway symbolising the transition from one place and time to another. In this case, it is a window into the past, showing the arrival of the Te Arawa waka to Maketū. At the centre of the Waharoa is the tamaiti (child), design inspired by Robyn Williams’ Te Kāhui Ako o Te Puke logo. Symbols and patterns represent the cultural diversity and inclusivity of Te Puke Intermediate School.
