Acorn Foundation

I recently had the honour of painting a mural inside the Tauranga Acorn Foundation office . The mural reflects the communities that Acorn donors and charities support and includes some of our regions native plants and wildlife. For example a tūī in the KatiKati bird gardens, a dotterel on the Waihi Beach dunes, a little blue penguin near Matakana Island, kiwifruit blossom and fern fronds that nod to Te Puke’s & Maketu's productive orchards.

For the Acorn Foundation team, the mural is a meaningful way to stay visually connected . For me, this was a 2025 highlight so far!I loved painting for such a respected and impactful organisation. Plus the project brought together so many things I value: working locally, showcasing our region’s unique flora and fauna, collaborating with a wonderful team, and creating something meaningful for both the staff and visitors to enjoy.

Thank you Acorn for the opportunity, and thank you Creative Bay of Planty for connecting us in the first place.
