Village Green Omokoroa

Created for Village Green Bar & Kitchen, this mural celebrates the heart of what the space stands for - community. With its open, welcoming atmosphere already beautifully designed, the intention of this piece was to enhance that feeling by introducing layers of vibrancy, colour, and personality.

The design explores depth through a considered layering of botanical elements. A flowing linear pattern inspired by coffee plants weaves throughout the composition, sitting both in front of and behind lush tropical foliage, including banana leaves, palm fronds, and monstera. This interplay creates movement and a sense of immersion within the space.

At the centre of the mural, the native Kōtare (kingfisher) brings a striking focal point. Its vivid colouring adds a burst of energy, grounding the artwork in the local environment while breathing life into the wall.

This piece is a reflection of connection, between nature, place, and people, and was created to complement and elevate the experience of gathering at “the green.”
